GIVING A STAGE TO IMPERFECTION

Gillette Venus’s ‘My Skin. My Way.’ campaign is a repudiation of airbrushed perfection and recognition that every woman has a right to feel comfortable in her own skin. So instead of covering up scars, cellulite, birthmarks and other skin ‘imperfections’, we celebrated them – creating beautiful designs that show off what society tells us to hide.

We’re taking unique skin hang-ups – cellulite, birth marks, stretch marks – and using them to make colorful, beautiful patterns that can be turned into textiles or any other art form. Designs that will help women see their skin in a whole new light.

 
 

We’ll partner with people like Chrissy Teigen – unashamedly proud of her perceived imperfections – and other skin-positive influencers. Sending them a package with a special dress designed using their own unique skin hang-ups to create a one-of-a-kind pattern – one that literally allows you to wear your insecurities on your sleeve.

Gillette Venus will leverage New York Fashion Week with a show that tells us we’re perfect just as we are.

Our celebratory ‘My Skin. My Way’ NYFW show will feature our influencers walking down the runway wearing the garments designed using their own unique skin insecurities.

To encourage everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin, we’ll extend the activation. We’ll partner with a retailer to create a clothing line featured in-store with sales proceeds going to skin-positive groups.

In addition, we’d feature our unique designs on limited-edition razors and allow people to go online and create a pattern designed from their own unique skin hang-ups.

To help tell people they’re perfect as they are, we’ll also launch No Filter Fridays #NFF, where everyone posts un-retouched and un-filtered selfies or body photos. To promote #NFF, we’ll create a unique branded Venus filter. When you add the filter to your photo, it does nothing but show you as you should be seen.

No hiding. No effects. The only filter you need to celebrate you and your skin.

Ones that modernize the AARP brand and also give its 50+ members the tool to live how they choose as they age.

It’s why we’ll create an online experience that uses facial recognition and voice interpretative technology to help Gen X hone their interview skills. The technology will gauge the confidence in your voice, measure your eye contact, and train you to better your chances of securing a new job.

FRAUD-BOT

Fraud relies on our lack of time and distraction, and the older we are the more vulnerable we get. So, we’ll create a Facebook messenger bot where you can easily paste suspicious

phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs you’re unsure about to evaluate if they’re fraud. Language analyzers would then evaluate if it’s spam or fraud.

INSTAGRAM STORIES

We’ll show how easy it is to fall for fraud by turning Instagram’s poll functionality into an educational tool. AARP will show two screens of emails n its Instagram story, and challenge users to guess which one is fraudulent to help them learn ways to identify them.
